Floyd Mayweather Vs Saul Canelo Alvarez Tickets

We still have to wait over two months before Floyd Mayweather Junior and Saul Canelo Alvarez are going to do battle to finally unify the middleweight titles. This is easily the biggest fight of the year, and many records have already been broken.

We are going to have to wait until September 14 until the fight takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, but the all time live gate record has already been broken for a boxing event on Wednesday. It didn't even take 24 hours before all the tickets were sold out.

The chief of Golden boy promotions has said that the fight is going to make at least $18 million and it could even go as high as 19 million depending on how many free tickets are given out. It is definitely going to break the all-time record.

Back in 2007 when Mayweather defeated Oscar to De la Hoya by unanimous decision to capture the junior middleweight title, they also broke all of the previous boxing money making records. They even broke the record for all-time pay-per-view sales, they sold over 2.5 million pay-per-views. And the gate made over $18 million. The previous record was held by Evander Holyfield versus Lennox Lewis back in 1999 for the heavyweight title.

The reason the gate cannot be calculated to the exact amount is because the tickets from $350 up to $2000 are sometimes given out for free. Anyway you look at it though, it's still quite impressive that they are able to calculate the gate with a 2% margin of error and the fight is still two months away. They still have to figure out how many complementary tickets are going to be given away, but even where they stand now they have already broken the previous record.

Mayweather himself has promised that this is going to be a great show for all the fans on September 14.

This fight set another record for closed-circuit revenue. This is from people who watch the fight at restaurants and bars. It's going to generate at least $3 million guaranteed for this bout. We will have to wait and see if this fight is going to break the pay-per-view record. Only time will tell.
